Notes:
Thanks to Ransom Wood Estates we have access to indoor toilets and a registration/results room. A large groundsheet will be laid on the carpet on entry to the building. You are asked to take off your shoes here. The area is a mix of mature deciduous and coniferous plantations. Runnablity is generally very good but varies from excellent to slow going! There is an exposed area of ‘moorland’ in the northwest. If the weather is inclement you may wish to carry a cagoule. Brown course only: The south-east corner has several fenced enclosures that must not be entered as they are part of an area of SSI. They are marked out of bounds on the map.

Safety:
Short hours of daylight in early January mean the last start time will be 12.15 and courses will close at 2pm. Brown and blue course only: The eastern edge contains some disused mine workings including linear slit trenches and other concrete and metal remnants. The courses avoid the worst of these but please take care anyway!
Competitors take part at their own risk.
It is recommended that whistles are carried.
Once you have started a course it is a rule that you don't leave the event without reporting to a download official even if you retire.

The Competitor Safety Slip can be downloaded and brought to registration if you wish to leave medical or emergency contact details. You may place in a sealed envelope. The slip will be only accessible to the organiser or first aiders and will be destroyed after the event.
