Permanent Orienteering Course:
Sconce Park is a large area of public space in Newark by the River Devon with open space, woodland and the Queen's Sconce, a large civil war earthwork. The free permanent course map is available from the Go Orienteering website. Newark and Sherwood District Council requested our help in establishing a POC in September 2021. Following a successful grant application, NOC has updated the map, planned and installed courses with the support of Active4Today and the park ranger.
The POC is now available, a free map can be downloaded from the GO Orienteering site. Map updated August 2025.

SmartPhone Orienteering Course:
Sconce & Devon Park is a large area of public grass and woods by the river Devon with the Queens Sconce, a large civil war earthwork. There is a children's play area and the Rumbles café. The Sconce Park POC opened in 2023.
