Information for Bicycle Users:
As car travel and via Limetree Avenue to the event parking location (usually near the main buildings - follow the signs).
Bike shelter available near the event parking area.

You will be able to leave bags in the tent if necessary.
Specific Information for event day:
The Sherwood Arrow bus service from Worksop and Nottingham. Alight at Piper Lodge (Carburton) on the B6034.
The 0905 from Worksop arrives at Carburton at 0915.
Sunday service from Nottingham currently shown as leaving at 1045 arriving at Carburton 1158 so probably too late.
Travel by Car / Motorcycle / Minibus:
Follow brown signs from A614 from the east and A60 or B6034 from the west. Follow signs to Visitor facilities.
You do not have to pay for entrance to the park but please show evidence of participation in the event if possible.
If you are a National Trust member, please show your membership cards.

Enquiries / Assembly:
Assembly is 1km from the car park. Facilities include Enquiries, Download, Results, Portable Loos, First Aid and bag drop. Compass point will be in attendance.
There will be space for club tents in the assembly area.
There is a cafe in the visitor facilities and the ruins of Clumber House would make a good spectator area.

Terrain:
Mixed woodland of all ages. Semi-open heathland areas. Several enclosures where cattle may be grazing. Please give them a wide berth.
Only cross fences at marked crossing points.
Senior courses will cross the main access roads into the Park where there is likely to be significant traffic (around five cars per minute).
All courses will cross minor estate roads where there is likely to be occasional traffic.
Competitors must take great care when crossing or running beside any road.
Punching System:
Timing is by SportIdent
Contactless punching is enabled for those with SIACs.
Everybody must punch conventionally at the Start and Finish
Map:
Scale 1:10,000, 5m contours. A3 landscape.
Shorter courses may have a smaller map

Start:
The start is 700m from assembly. There will be a pre-start area just through the gate with space for warm up either along the road or in the enclosure.
Be aware of cattle in the start enclosure and give them a wide berth.
You will be checked off on the start list and you must start at your allotted time.
The start will be arranged into three 1-minute boxes (-3,-2 and -1).
Please ensure that you have cleared and checked your SI/SIAC cards before you start.
Remember to 'punch' at the start box.

Finish:
This is adjacent to the assembly area. It is a punching finish for all.
Please move directly to download after your course.

Download is next to the Enquiry Point
Results:
There will be a results display in assembly both for each course and for the team scores.
Toilets:
Portable Toilets at Assembly. Public Toilets at site buildings.
Dogs:
Dogs are allowed in the park, in assembly on a lead but no dogs on courses.
Facilities:
Compass Point will be in the assembly area.
There will be space for club tents in the assembly area.
There is a café in the visitor facilities.
Safety:
Specifically for this event at Clumber Park:
In case of inclement weather you may be advised to carry a lightweight waterproof hooded top. Please bring one with you in case.
Covid: If you have symptoms of a respiratory infection, such as COVID-19, and you have a high temperature or do not feel well enough to go to work or carry out normal activities, you are advised to try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people.
and for all NOC events:A comprehensive Risk Assessment has been carried out by the organiser.
Participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event. It is recommended that whistles are carried.
Once you have started a course it is a rule that you don't leave the event without reporting to a download official even if you retire.
The Competitor Safety Slip can be downloaded and brought to the Enquiry Point if you wish to leave medical or emergency contact details. You may place the slip in a sealed envelope labelled with your name and class. The slip will be only accessible to the organiser or first aiders and will be destroyed after the event.
Child and Vulnerable Adults Safety:
This event is organised in accordance with British Orienteering regulations for child safety. This includes ensuring that courses selected by competitors aged under 18 are suitable for their level of experience. Where there is doubt, please ensure your child is shadowed on a colour coded course. Adults who wish to be competitive must complete their own course first. NOC volunteers are available at enquiries to advise and to support newcomers in selecting an appropriate course. More information
NOC has a policy on the taking of photographs at events, based on national guidance. This provides a sensible balance between the benefits and risks associated with the taking and use of images. If you are unsure about acceptable practice, please speak to the event organiser.
Entries:
The competition courses for Compass Sport Cup and Compass Sport Trophy can only be pre-entered via your club team captain.
