Specific Information for event day:
If arriving by train at Nottingham station please note that there are many exits. You may choose to get the tram to Old Market Square from the station – follow the signs. There is an easy walking route from the main foyer of the station on Carrington Street, turn right /north and cross to the LHS of the road. It is 0.6km following Carrington Street northwards over the canal and through a pedestrian area then through the newly planted ‘Green Heart’ and onwards via Lister Gate to St Peter’s Square (the race start). It’s a further 100m up Exchange Walk to Old Market Square.

Parking:   
See Park & Ride information above. There are car parks in central Nottingham e.g. Broadmarsh Car Park NG1 7FE, from which there is easy pedestrian access to the new 'Green Heart' and then north along Lister Gate towards the Start and the Event HQ / Finish in Old Market Square, the eastern side near the Right Lion at NG1 2DT. See walk details from the railway station in Public transport above. The best priced for all day on a Sunday is the Railway Station car park at 17 Queen's Rd, Nottingham NG2 3DW - £5 all day! An alternative is to park (free on a Sunday) along the Victoria Embankment (best approached from the western end) as far eastwards as possible then walk towards Trent Bridge and catch a bus from the stop on the N side of the bridge into the city. Bus stops have route maps.

This event is suitable for newcomers.
The area is Urban. You will need clothes and footwear suitable for the weather and terrain.
We like to help newcomers to get started. There is a newcomer email where you can ask for advice. Please let us know that you are coming to the event and we will allocate someone to help you.

Special Rules:
Adults can enter any course but to be competitive in the EMUL and UKUL you should enter the designated course for your age class. Juniors age 12 and under must enter course 7 unless accompanied by an adult. Juniors age 16 and under must enter course 6 unless accompanied by an adult. NB these are for safety reasons. Newcomers with young children are advised to enter Course 7 in the Family Explorer class; more confident adult newcomers / family groups with older children are advised to enter Course 6 in the Newcomer Adult class.

Enquiries / Assembly:
Old Market Square near the 'Right Lion'. Look for orienteering banners. There will be space to leave bags at your own risk. Public toilets are signed from near the 'Left Lion'. Collect hired e-cards at enquiries before going to the start. All competitors are asked to wear race numbers - collect these at the pre-start at the southern end of Exchange Walk. Please bring your own pins - some may be available.

Start:
The start is in St Peter's Square 100m south of the Enquiry Point. Take care crossing the tram track and follow signs along Exchange Walk.
The start will be arranged into three 1-minute boxes (-3,-2 and -1).
Please ensure that you have cleared and checked your SI/SIAC cards before you start.
Remember to 'punch' at the start box.

Finish:
The finish is in Old Market Square close to the Enquiry Point. It is a 'punching' finish for all competitors.

Download:
At the Enquiry Point

Results:
Results will not be displayed at Download but will be available on the NOC website.
There might be Live O results on the day, if reception is good enough.

Toilets available within site buildings

Dogs:
Permitted but must be kept on a lead around the registration area

Safety:
Specifically for this event at Nottingham City:
Care must be taken crossing roads and the tram track. There will be a road crossing marked as compulsory for juniors crossing the tram track part way round their courses.

Everyone must stay alert when going round corners and along narrow alleys - be respectful of members of the public sharing the centre of the city.

Participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event. It is recommended that whistles are carried.

Once you have started a course it is a rule that you don't leave the event without reporting to a download official even if you retire.

The Competitor Safety Slip can be downloaded and brought to the Enquiry Point if you wish to leave medical or emergency contact details. You may place the slip in a sealed envelope labelled with your name and class. The slip will be only accessible to the organiser or first aiders and will be destroyed after the event.

Child and Vulnerable Adults Safety:
This event is organised in accordance with British Orienteering regulations for child safety. This includes ensuring that courses selected by competitors aged under 18 are suitable for their level of experience. Where there is doubt, please ensure your child is shadowed on a colour coded course. Adults who wish to be competitive must complete their own course first. NOC volunteers are available at enquiries to advise and to support newcomers in selecting an appropriate course. More information
