Bikes can be locked to a fence close to assembly/enquiries.

Specific Information for event day:
From Mansfield bus stataion take the 28 bus to Rainworth. Alight at the end of Helmsley Road and walk 450m to the event assembly at Dawn Hopuse School at the far end of Helmsley Road. Buses leave Mansfield hourly from 0845, 16mins journey time.

Travel by Car / Motorcycle / Minibus:
The event centre will be in Dawn House School, which is in Rainworth, near Mansfield. There is no access from the A617. You must go into Rainworth first and then and turn into Helmsley Road. When on Hemsley Road you will drive past a Primary School on your left. Dawn House School is on the left at the north end of Helmsley Road.

Parking will be at Dawn House School. There is plenty of space for parking. Please follow any instructions given as you enter the school grounds. If you would like a quiet parking area please contact the organiser.

This event is suitable for newcomers.
The area is Forest/Heath/Sanddune. You will need clothes and footwear suitable for the weather and terrain.
We like to help newcomers to get started. There is a newcomer email where you can ask for advice. Please let us know that you are coming to the event and we will allocate someone to help you.

Timing is by SportIdent
Contactless punching is enabled for those with SIACs.
Everybody must punch conventionally at the Start and Finish

Start:
If you would like a quiet start please contact the Organiser.
From the exit of Dawn House School follow the signs and tapes 500 metres to the Start.
The main Start and the LOG Championship Starts are adjacent.
The Start is very close to the Finish.
The start will be arranged into three 1-minute boxes (-3,-2 and -1).
Please ensure that you have cleared and checked your SI/SIAC cards before you start.
Remember to 'punch' at the start box.

Control Descriptions:
Control descriptions will be available in the start lanes and are printed on the map.

Finish:
After you have finished there will be a 500 metre walk back to Dawn House School, where Download is located.
Follow the tapes and signs.
Please remove any dirty or muddy footwear before going into the school buildings.

Download:
Follow the signs to Download when you enter Dawn House School.
Please remove any dirty or muddy footwear.
When you have downloaded there will be Christmas treats and hot/cold drinks available.
To help reduce waste, if possible, please bring your own drinking cup/mug.
Dawn House School will also have Christmas goods on sale for school funds.
Look out for the Christmas elves giving out spot prizes !

Results:
Results will not be displayed at Download but will be available on the NOC website.
There might be Live O results on the day, if reception is good enough.

Prize Giving:
LOG will be arranging their own prize giving once they have established the winners of the LOG Championships.

Safety:
Specifically for this event at Strawberry Hill & Ransom Wood:
The area of Strawberry Hill and Ransom Woods is used by off-road bikers. Please be aware that some may be some there while you are competing. They do not keep to the paths and could appear from any unxepected places !

A comprehensive Risk Assessment has been carried out by the organiser.

Participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event. It is recommended that whistles are carried.

Once you have started a course it is a rule that you don't leave the event without reporting to a download official even if you retire.

The Competitor Safety Slip can be downloaded and brought to the Enquiry Point if you wish to leave medical or emergency contact details. You may place the slip in a sealed envelope labelled with your name and class. The slip will be only accessible to the organiser or first aiders and will be destroyed after the event.

Child and Vulnerable Adults Safety:
This event is organised in accordance with British Orienteering regulations for child safety. This includes ensuring that courses selected by competitors aged under 18 are suitable for their level of experience. Where there is doubt, please ensure your child is shadowed on a colour coded course. Adults who wish to be competitive must complete their own course first. NOC volunteers are available at enquiries to advise and to support newcomers in selecting an appropriate course. More information

NOC has a policy on the taking of photographs at events, based on national guidance. This provides a sensible balance between the benefits and risks associated with the taking and use of images. If you are unsure about acceptable practice, please speak to the event organiser.

The nearest hospital with A+E facilities is King's Mill Hospital, in Mansfield.
